The theory and process of high-precision surface lapping Brief Introduction: the theory of High-precision surface lapping and polishing is that the adopted free scattered abrasives relative move between the workpiece process surface and the base surface of the grinding disc, ensuring the high flatness and smooth surface. The workpiece is naturally placed on the grinding disc, and no clamps, vacuum, or magnetic requirements. The surface lapping/polishing is suitable for any metal and non-metallic workpieces. There is no clamping or rigid grinding of normal grinder, which reduces the deformation caused by impact and heat, which is  more conducive to high-precision and high-finish processing. Even an inexperienced operator can easily obtain the best 0.2um flatness and Ra0.02um roughness. For many years, Yuhuan CNC has focused on the R&D of high-precision surface grinding and polishing technology, and hopes to share rich process experience and technical achievements with you. Flatness: The flatness of the workpiece depends on the flatness of the grinding disc. As the processing field continues to deepen and the requirements for precision and efficiency are getting higher and higher: Yuhuan has developed the lapping machine from cast iron disks, synthetic disks, copper disks, pure tin disks, and resin disks to diamond disks, and uses various methods to dress the plate of the disk ,The best flatness is up to 2um. Roughness: The surface roughness depends on the size and shape of the abrasive particles and the material of the grinding disc, as well as the material and hardness of the workpiece. Rough grinding: Grinding on the surface of the grinding disc and the workpiece with coarser grained abrasives, with a big feed rate and high efficiency; but the roughness achievement is relatively coarse, which is suitable for large grinding removement. Intermediate grinding: Use medium-grained abrasives to grind the surface of the grinding disc and the workpiece, with fast feed rate, high efficiency, and moderate surface roughness, which is suitable for workpieces with general grinding volume. Fine grinding: Use finer grained abrasives to grind the surface of the workpiece in the grinding disc, with a small feed rate, good surface finish, and uniform and fine grinding trace. Soft polishing: A special material polishing pad or polishing cloth is installed on the grinding disc. The polishing fluid flow between the polishing pads or polishing cloths, ensuring the higher finish surface than hard polishing. Hard polishing: Using synthetic discs, copper discs, tin discs, resin discs and other high-precision base surfaces plus micron-level diamond abrasives, the surface of the workpiece becomes high-precision flatness and mirror-like high finish.
